1. DO NOT CALL HER NAME OR SHOUT AT HER. This will only serve as confusing to her and perhaps drive her further away from home.

  2. DO NOT CHASE HER. Please call me immediately, and try to keep and eye on her, from whatever distance you are, for as long as you can.

  3. If she seems receptive to you, rescue experts have advised me to sit down very slowly and give her a couple of slow blinks. You can softly speak to her and pet her if she approaches you and rubs against you, although I would not try to pick her up unless you are a cat expert or somehow intuitively know she is comfortable. If that is the case, the advice is to wrap the cat snugly in a towel to calm her, but please be gentle with my girl.
